Ecobase and Forcap partner to bring carbon opportunities closer to Swedish forest owners

Ecobase partners with Forcap to expand access to IFM carbon projects in Sweden, helping forest owners of all sizes unlock new forestry income.

Ecobase is pleased to announce a new partnership with Forcap, a Swedish forestry strategy and advisory firm, to bring Improved Forest Management (IFM) carbon projects to more landowners across Sweden.

This collaboration strengthens Ecobase’s local reach and expands access to verified carbon income opportunities for forest owners of all sizes. By combining Ecobase’s carbon project development expertise with Forcap’s deep experience in Swedish forestry, the partnership supports climate-smart, financially sustainable forest management at scale

A shared vision for forest value

Ecobase and Forcap share a common belief: that the future of forestry lies in long-term thinking, ecological stewardship, and diversified income. Together, we aim to help landowners unlock the carbon value of their forests—without giving up control or compromising their land management priorities.

Forcap brings decades of experience in forest management planning, strategic asset development, and financial services tailored to forest owners. Their team works closely with landowners across Sweden to build custom forestry strategies that maximize both profitability and sustainability.

By joining forces, Ecobase and Forcap will support more landowners in participating in IFM carbon projects certified under Verra’s globally recognized Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). These projects reward improvements to forest management practices that enhance carbon sequestration activities and by so generating verified credits for sale in the voluntary carbon market.

Expanding access to IFM projects in Sweden

Through our partnership with Forcap, more forest owners in Sweden, regardless of property size, can now take part in Ecobase’s Improved Forest Management (IFM) projects.

Forcap works closely with landowners to make participation simple and accessible. Whether managing a large estate or a smaller forest holding, landowners can now benefit from verified carbon income while continuing to manage their land on their own terms.

“Ecobase has successfully created a service that benefits the climate while also supporting the interests of forest owners, all in a responsive and attentive manner. The Ecobase service enables more active forest management, higher revenues for forest owners, and a better climate. It is with great pleasure that we at Forcap now take on the role of reseller of Ecobase’s services to forest owners in Sweden.”

A natural fit for the Swedish market

With nearly 28 million hectares of forest and a strong culture of professional forestry, the country is ideally positioned to lead Europe in adopting Improved Forest Management as a climate and income solution.

By working together, Ecobase and Forcap offer a clear, credible, and practical path into the carbon market for Swedish landowners, backed by global standards and rooted in local expertise.

Looking ahead

This partnership is part of Ecobase’s broader strategy to scale carbon projects across Sweden and Finland through trusted, mission-aligned partnerships. As we grow, we continue to welcome collaborations with other forestry advisors, cooperatives, and landowner networks who share our commitment to sustainable forestry and high-integrity carbon removals.

Ecobase is the largest forest carbon project developer in Europe.

We develop high-quality forestry projects that allow landowners to access carbon finance and help corporations to achieve their sustainability goals.
